Before Your Event
Want to Host Your Event at WanderHaus?
WanderHaus events are typically scheduled 2 to 6 weeks in advance. All events require consensus approval by the residents. To request an event at WanderHaus, use this form.
Discuss & promote your event
Talk about your event at Potluck; invite faeries by sending them personal invitations; and discuss your function in the appropriate chat rooms.
Many Hands Make Light Work
Collaborate with with your co-hosts & volunteers to distribute your event’s tasks. Who’s going to: promote the event & send reminders? Bring the snacks? Provide the music? Brew tea / coffee during the event? Open the door & greet attendees? Sweep & clean up after the function?
Ensure You Have What You Need
Hosts are responsible for acquiring all items for their event, including: food, snacks, beverages, cookware, decorations, DJ / sound equipment, lighting, projectors, etc.
During Your Event
Resident-on-Call
Hosts are assigned a resident-on-call. Your resident-on-call is responsible for your event, and will be your first point of contact for any needs you may have. Always approach the resident-on-call with any questions or needs, before consulting other residents.
If your resident-on-call is unavailable, or you require immediate assistance, please reach out to any / all of the residents (In the event of an emergency, please dial 911).
Haus Phone
The host will be responsible for the WanderHaus Host Phone for the duration of your event.
Hosts are Responsible for Guests
Encourage your guests to treat the Haus well, and to respect our neighbors by arriving & departing quietly. Be aware of your event’s noise footprint. Loud events can disturb the residents, and our neighbors.
Rearranging the Haus
Never rearrange appliances in the kitchen, and do not bring your own appliances from home. Our kitchen’s power grid is very fragile, and gets overloaded if appliances are moved, or additional appliances are plugged in.
Do not disturb the plants, art, sculptures, photos, books, electronics (TVs, video game systems, speakers, etc), trinkets on display, litter boxes, or cat furniture. If any of these need to be moved, please consult a resident.
The following items can be rearranged as needed: couches, ottomans, dining room table, dining room chairs, folding tables, folding chairs, floor chairs, floor mats, rugs, small black tables, and glow cubes.
Resident Presence During Events
WanderHaus is a living, breathing home, and it’s highly likely that one or more residents will be in the Haus during your event (though not attending). You should expect residents to pass through shared spaces, make everyday sounds, or be accompanied by a partner, lover, or friend.
Due to the shared nature of our home, WanderHaus is unable to accommodate events that require complete privacy or significant quiet.
End of Your Event
