Overnight Guest Details

Although modeled after the guide for overnight guests published by WanderHaus, Dovetail Manor has more limited resources to accommodate guests.  Please read this section carefully for most of it is significantly different from the guide published by WanderHaus.

Dovetail Manor does not have a guest room.  However, accommodations can be easily made for one or two nights.  There are two options for hosting your visit:

  1. Sleeping in the Zen room – This room is used for working with clients.  Anyone staying here must pack up their things and help prepare the space (including attached bathroom) by 9 am.
  2. Sleeping in the vivarium, on the couch–Because this is a shared space, understand that you will not be guaranteed privacy.  Also, grow lights turn on automatically at sunrise.  Please reach out to your resident-on-call for instruction on how to turn them off.
  3. A third option may be available for returning guests.

Keep the Space Tidy

Dovetail Manor has limited space.  Also, Yuvi is highly sensitive to clutter.  Please keep all your things together.  Your resident-on-call will assign you a place to keep all your things.  Exceptions include: footwear on the hallway shoe rack; coat hanging in the closet; food stowed in the kitchen.

Your Guest Key

Your resident-on-call will give you a Guest Key upon your arrival.

Loss of keys will prompt a request of $25 for replacement

Resident-on-Call

All guests are assigned a resident-on-call. Your resident-on-call is responsible for your stay, and will be your first point of contact for any needs you may have.  Always approach the resident-on-call with any questions or needs, before consulting other residents.

If your resident-on-call is unavailable, or you require immediate assistance, please reach out to any / all of the residents (In the event of an emergency, please dial 911).

If You’d Like to Give Back

If you’re staying with us and have the means, one wonderful way to show appreciation is by sharing a meal with your hosts. This could mean cooking something here, ordering delivery, or treating residents to a local restaurant. It’s a gesture that’s always appreciated, but never expected.

Allowed Visitors

With permission from the resident-on-call, Overnight Guests may have a visitor.  You must accompany your visitor at all times.  Visits should be limited to two hours, exceptions considered.  Want your visitor to stay overnight? Check with your resident-on-call for approval.

Food

Most of the food at Dovetail Manor is considered communal, with the exception of the ceremonial cacao.  Communal meals are important for us to connect with each other in the space.  You can expect oatmeal, 2 eggs, and coffee for breakfast.  Please check-in with us about meal-prep.

Similar to the expectations at the Faerie Sanctuarys: a request of $30 per day for food is recommended ($10 per meal).  Please only give if you are able.

If you are eating out, we do not expect you to contribute to food.

If you are purchasing groceries for the house, expect to subtract that which you spend from the requested amount.

We will not be tallying up a total for your visit.  We ask that you keep track for yourself.  We will also not ask for money for food.  Please offer the money as a gift upon the completion of your stay.

The household is mostly pescetarian and dairy-free.  If you bring in any meat or dairy, please label the food.  Also, Please label any food that you wish to reserve for yourself.  Any food that is not labeled is considered communal.

Lights

Most of the lights are controlled with remotes or from the Wiz v2 app.

General Visitor Guidelines

Overnight Guests are also expected to be familiar with the General Visitor Information (above).

Client Work

Performing in-person client work for money? Please contact Mother Damndst about renting the brothel

Long-Term Guest Expectations

Long-Term stay is only available to guests who have already had a short-term stay.  Please understand, most requests for long-term stay cannot be granted.  Dovetail Manor has limited resources for guests, especially because the residents see clients at the residence.

We request Overnight Guests staying 3 nights (or more) to complete one chore each day, from the Dovetail Manor Cleaning Guide.  Thank you!

Maximum Length of Stay

To maintain a sustainable, nurturing, and compassionate environment for the residents, we encourage the following:

Recommended maximum length for a single visit: 3 consecutive days (2 nights)

7-Step Check-Out Process

Guests must check-out with the resident-on-call before departure. If the resident-on-call is unavailable, check-out with another resident.

  1. Gather all used laundry. This includes the sheets, pillowcases, towels, and washrags.  Place laundry in the work-room closet hamper.
  2. Clean the main bathroom.  Vinegar spray and cleaning rags are in the pantry.
  3. Clean dirty dishes, and dispose of trash & recycling. Place all used dishes in the dishwasher.  If the dishwasher is full, notify the resident-on-call and please wash the dishes by hand.
  4. Sweep the Guest Bedroom and bathroom. The broom & dustpan can be found in the coat closet.
  5. Double-check the residence for any personal items or trash / recycling.
  6. Collect your food from the kitchen cabinets, fridge, or freezer.
  7. Verify your check-out with your resident-on-call.
